A thousand (more) Londons

Ooh.  My post below (originally titled "The 000-999 of London) has won the first of the new "post of the week" competitions:

http://www.postoftheweek.com/

Thanks to the editorial team and especially to Troubled Diva who I think nominated me.

The ideas in the post took a while to collect, much like the Noctilukre itself.  In the end I typed this out fairly quickly, to get it out the way.  From a "use of language" point of view I don't think it is one of my best... and may re-work it one day.

Noctilukre is of course, a macguffin - a framework in which to tell stories, rather than a story itself (there's a barely-concealed nod to this in the post... can you find it?)

I thought about renaming the blog "a thousand Londons."  Feel free to tell the story of yours.

You know, I could almost see a whole weird , trippy book out of your brilliant idea.

Congratulations - that's a great way to start the revival of POTW off.

Spiffing good show what what what. Onwards and upwards. Damn! it's the editor. better go. Laters.

Your POTW win is deserved - it's a superb post.

I owe thanks to Mike and an apology to you - I have you bookmarked but haven't read you for a while, don't know why not. Now bloglined. Cheers.

Deserved. Good post.

Not sure why, but it amuses me that you started this post by saying "Ooh."
