[a Valentine's day poem for K]
Writing brought us together my K.
A private language quick to bind.
Sacred texts and shared jokes, our fort
against the rest. And smiled inside to find
we each have built a keep,
a save,
for the words
that we have made.
My batchelor's kiss the morning train
Walking work and always the same
No room for a girl (and a girl is strange)
or so it seemed. I tried. This work
redeemed itself, and such worth,
is the change
that you have made.
Inside four arms
that better warmth
taught why two bodies are those shapes. A place
apart from the world
Where and when we curled.
Wrought just for two,
the space
that we have made.
I was grateful just for tomorrow. But with you
the future's months not days.
This last old turtle lifts his gaze
from the next step to the horizon.
Now a diary designed by rocket scientist to
take every prize from
the time
that we have made.
The way you eat,
Touch and tongue and food and sound.
We gorged on sheets and afternoons,
where I'd thought no new feel be found.
Every skin. With every spoon, each time,
deeper ever deeper
into lush new continents. Such sleep a
man knew not, no craving sense of mine
left incomplete
by the love
that we have made
Though words may change
and space and time pare us away,
this love will stay.
Let this
be always and forever.
The life
that we have made
together my K.

This sounds like the way I feel just now, albeit many, many days after Valentine's Day. Let's just say that Valentine's Day happened on May 3rd and leave it at that... Thanks for sharing. Happiness is contagious.
